(Senior) AI Engineer – AI Booster Team (f|m|d)

idealo’s AI Booster Team accelerates the company’s adoption of generative AI technology by partnering with product teams, building reusable AI workflows, and championing best practices across the company. You’ll shape and deliver scalable LLM systems and agentic workflows that turn ideas into production launches - fast.

About your new role

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and ship LLM-powered features from ideation to live in weeks.

• Architect and build advanced LLM workflows and agentic systems - multi-agent orchestration, tool use, and execution flows.

• Select and evaluate the right models and inference infrastructure for the task, balancing cost, latency, quality, and safety.

• Develop reusable AI building blocks (e.g., sophisticated RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks, model adapters) that scale across products and teams.

• Champion automated evaluations, human-in-the-loop checks, and continuous feedback loops to ensure quality, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

• Serve as a technical mentor - run office hours, reviews, and workshops to level up GenAI skills across idealo.

Skills & Requirements

• Professional software engineering experience (3 + years) with at least 1+ years hands-on building LLM-centric systems or related generative AI applications.

• Knowledge of LLM workflows, RAG design, embeddings, vector databases, prompt strategies, and multi-agent patterns.

• Experience with model evaluation, selection, performance optimization, and cost-effective deployment across cloud or hybrid environments.

• Proficiency in Python (core), and familiarity with at least one modern engineering stack (e.g., FastAPI, Node.js/TypeScript, React) - with bias toward backend, pipelines, and automation logic over UI.

• Comfortable with ML/AI infrastructure & orchestration (cloud services, containerization, CI/CD, monitoring).

• High personal agency - you stay on top of the latest GenAI research and tooling, contribute to team knowledge, and push for pragmatic outcomes with a bias for action.

• Evidence of exceptional achievement - like open-source contributions, AI tooling, competitions, publications, or widely-used engineering artifacts.
