Head of Onsite Ads (Retail Media) (m|w|d)

In this role, you will be responsible for building and further developing our onsite retail media business. You will leverage our merchant base, product data, and strong consumer reach to create and scale a high-performing advertising product portfolio. As a key interface between Product, Sales, Data, and Marketing, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our advertising business and shaping the strategic direction for all onsite formats. In doing so, you will actively influence idealo’s position within the broader retail media ecosystem.

About your new role

• Develop and implement the strategy for the onsite retail media business, including positioning and scaling approach

• Own the onsite advertising portfolio (e.g., Sponsored Product Ads, Teaser Ads), including performance, pricing, and revenue

• Lead and develop a team within the Retail Media Onsite organization

• Ensure data-driven optimization of campaigns, inventory, and user experience in close collaboration with Product & Tech

• Partner closely with Sales to define go-to-market strategies, packaging, pricing, and customer narratives

• Monitor market trends, competitors, and retail media standards to evolve the offering continuously

Skills & Requirements

• Several years of experience in Retail Media or Digital Advertising, ideally with a focus on onsite or sponsored ads

• Proven expertise in building or scaling advertising products or business models

• Leadership experience, ideally managing a team or department

• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex topics into clear priorities and roadmaps

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Tech, Data, Sales, Marketing)

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills

• High analytical capability and a data-driven, solution-oriented working style

• Fluency in German and English
