About the Role 

The Delivery Manager / Operations Lead (OL) is responsible for the operational effectiveness, productivity, and delivery capability of one or more teams within the Mobile Application Development (MAD) unit. 
 
As a trusted partner for engineers and stakeholders, the OL creates the conditions for teams to work efficiently, sustainably, and with high quality. The role focuses on operational excellence, team health, and continuous delivery, ensuring that execution aligns with the company’s strategic goals. 
 
The Operations Lead is an enabler of operational excellence: removing obstacles, improving collaboration, and enabling teams to deliver impact consistently. 

Key Responsibilities 

Team Enablement & Collaboration 

  • Foster healthy team dynamics that support productivity, collaboration, and psychological safety. 

  • Participate in team formats such as stand-ups, retrospectives, and workshops where useful. 

  • Continuously improve team effectiveness across quality, efficiency, innovation capability, and resilience. 

Operational Excellence & Processes 

  • Analyze, design, and continuously improve team and cross-team processes. 

  • Work closely with management, Staff Engineers, and teams using retrospectives, feedback systems, and KPIs. 

  • Introduce and maintain transparent metrics to steer operational performance. 

Output Enablement & Delivery 

  • Ensure a consistently high and sustainable team output by identifying and removing blockers. 

  • Promote Lean principles such as focus, flow, pull systems, and short feedback loops. 

  • Support teams in maintaining clarity around goals, priorities, and impact. 

  • Enable data-driven operational steering using meaningful KPIs. 

Projects & Cross-Team Initiatives 

  • Lead operational and technical projects within MAD and in cross-team contexts. 

  • Ensure outcome-oriented execution with regard to time, quality, and objectives. 

  • Actively manage dependencies and stakeholders to reduce friction. 

People Leadership & Development 

  • Support the individual development of engineers through coaching, feedback, and learning initiatives. 

  • Identify suitable development measures such as trainings, workshops, or team offsites. 

  • Take disciplinary leadership responsibility where applicable. 

Risk Management & Onboarding 

  • Identify operational and organizational risks related to delivery, capacity, or dependencies. 

  • Own and continuously improve a structured onboarding process for new team members. 

  • Support sustainable integration into team culture and workflows. 

Required Skills & Experience 

Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Experience in people leadership, coaching, or team development. 

  • Strong communication skills across different roles and seniority levels. 

  • Ability to build trust and foster collaboration in cross-functional environments. 

Operational & Analytical Skills 

  • Strong understanding of workflows, prioritization, and operational dependencies. 

  • Experience working with metrics, KPIs, and data-driven decision-making. 

  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills in complex and dynamic environments. 

Technical & Product Understanding 

  • Solid high-level understanding of software development (mobile and backend). 

  • Ability to engage in technical and product discussions without owning technical decisions. 

  • Good understanding of product context and business goals. 

Mindset 

  • Strong ownership and continuous improvement mindset. 

  • High level of empathy, integrity, and transparency. 

  • Ability to remain effective under changing conditions. 

Additional Information 

Experience working with remote or hybrid teams. 
Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams. 
Very good English and German skills
