(Senior) ) Software Engineer – SEO Engineering (m/f/d)

As part of the SEO Engineering Team, you share responsibility for idealo’s largest revenue channel. 

The team works in close collaboration with our SEO stakeholders to ensure idealo’s online visibility. A major focus is currently on expanding from Search Engine Optimization (primarily Google) to Generative Engine Optimization (AI agents). 

As part of the SEO Engineering Team, you will work on diverse and forward-looking topics (Machine Learning, Generative AI, AWS Cloud) and have the opportunity to actively contribute to the latest developments and technologies at idealo.

Your Tasks 

• Architecture & Design: You develop secure and efficient cloud applications and translate complex requirements into clear models and structures. 

• Development & Implementation: You accompany the entire development process – from the initial idea to programming and finally implementation in scalable cloud environments. 

• Operations: Whether container orchestration or serverless compute – you use modern platform environments that ensure stability and scalability. 

• Quality & Security: Testing, optimization and safeguarding are naturally part of your work to guarantee robust and high-performance systems. 

• Deployment & Further Development: You deliver production-ready applications, operate them reliably, and ensure continuous maintenance, optimization, and scaling. 

• Willingness to Learn & Innovate: You try out new cloud services and technologies and actively bring them into our environment. 

• Teamwork & Exchange: You work closely with colleagues from SEO and engineering, document your results, and participate in code reviews and joint discussions. 

What You Bring 

• Cloud Expertise: You have solid experience with AWS services (e.g. ECS, S3, Lambda, Glue, SageMaker) and are eager to continuously expand your knowledge. 

• Infrastructure as Code: Tools like AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform are familiar to you. 

• Containers & Orchestration: You work with Docker and orchestration platforms. 

• CI/CD & Automation: You have practical experience with common tools such as GitHub Actions. 

• Programming & Scripting: You are proficient in at least one language such as Java, TypeScript, Scala, or Python. Polyglot programming interests you.
