(Senior) Machine Learning Engineer (f|m|x)

You have the opportunity to join our ORCA (Offer Recognition and Cataloguing Association) team. We are responsible for the automatic cataloging of over 1.5 billion offers from more than 50,000 shops. The development of the latest machine learning methods and secure operations (MLOps) in the cloud plays a central role.

About your new role

• The further development of our high-performance offer cataloging in e-commerce.

• Research, development and operation of ML models and their data pipelines.

• The focus is on NLP, traditional machine learning and deep learning language models.

• The AWS Cloud Stack with Sagemaker is available and you will work in a CI/CD environment.

• Development in Python with common ML frameworks, such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, in a test-driven environment.

• You ensure the stable operation of our ML services in the team.

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. with equivalent experience in Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing or Computer Vision and a solid understanding of best practices.

• In-depth knowledge of ML concepts such as training, inference, and model monitoring.

• Experience in implementing the latest ML concepts and methods from ideation to production.

• Experience with Python and common data processing and deep learning frameworks, such as Sklearn, Pandas, Numpy, and PyTorch.

• You have basic knowledge of CI/CD tools, container tools such as Docker and ML cloud services such as SageMaker.

• Enjoy sharing knowledge - in a team, at internal events and conferences.

• English and German skills are required.

Nice-to-have

• Experience in applying scientific methods to tackle research problems and solve business problems through scientific solutions.

• Industry experience in the design, development and operation of data-intensive ML systems.

• You have publications in scientific conferences and journals, such as KDD, EMNLP, ICLR, NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ECCV, etc.
