Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin/AWS) – Cataloging (w|m|d)

Im Team Cataloging verantworten wir die ganzheitliche, vollautomatisierte Zuordnung von Shop-Daten zu unserer Katalogstruktur. Unsere Systeme klassifizieren mehr als 2 Milliarden Angebote nach Kategorie und Produkttyp, erkennen Herstellerinformationen und Produkteigenschaften und ordnen sie in den idealo-Produktkatalog ein. 

Dabei verbinden wir klassische Backend-Entwicklung mit modernen Machine-Learning-Ansätzen – immer mit dem Prinzip: You build it, you run it. 

Du arbeitest in einem Umfeld, in dem du nicht nur Code schreibst, sondern auch Verantwortung für die gesamte technische Kette übernimmst – von der Architektur über das Deployment bis zum Betrieb in einer Cloud-nativen AWS-Umgebung.

Deine Aufgaben & Verantwortlichkeiten 

• Weiterentwicklung & Architektur: 
  In enger Abstimmung mit Produkt, ML und Data verantwortest du die kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung unserer Backend-Services und den Ausbau unserer AWS-Infrastruktur. 

• Cloud & Automatisierung: 
  Du setzt auf Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automatisierte Deployments via CI/CD-Pipelines (GitHub Actions) und übernimmst Verantwortung für den stabilen Betrieb zentraler Komponenten wie Apache Kafka, MongoDB und CloudWatch. 

• Performance & Sicherheit: 
  Du analysierst bestehende Systeme, identifizierst Optimierungspotenziale und stellst sicher, dass unsere Lösungen performant, skalierbar und sicher sind. 

• Innovation & Evolution: 
  Gemeinsam mit deinem Team entwickelst du neue Lösungsansätze, treibst den Übergang zu modernen Cloud-Patterns voran und bringst dein Wissen zu neuen Technologien aktiv ein. 

• Mentoring & Teamgeist: 
  Du unterstützt Kolleg:innen beim Onboarding, teilst dein Wissen mit Werkstudent:innen und förderst ein Umfeld, in dem Lernen und Wachstum selbstverständlich sind. 

Anforderungen & Skills 

Must-Have 

• Mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Backend-Entwicklung, idealerweise mit Kotlin 

• Tiefes Wissen im Umgang mit AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, VPC) 

• Fundierte Kenntnisse in Infrastructure as Code, insbesondere mit AWS CDK (TypeScript) 

• Erfahrung mit CI/CD-Workflows (z. B. GitHub Actions) 

• Sicherer Umgang mit Kotlin, Java oder TypeScript 

• Kommunikationsstärke, Authentizität und Freude am gemeinsamen Lösen komplexer Aufgaben 

• Du hinterfragst den Status quo, denkst ganzheitlich und treibst Themen proaktiv voran 

Nice-to-Have 

• Erste Erfahrungen im Frontend-/Client-Bereich mit React 

• Interesse an Serverless-Architekturen und modernen Cloud-Konzepten 

• Begeisterung für Automatisierung, Machine Learning und datengetriebene Systeme
