The mission of our team is to provide a smooth and easy user account, that integrates seamlessly into idealo’s user journeys and at the same time guarantees the security of user data.
Our development process follows a continuous delivery approach with automated tests and infrastructure as code. We just finished migrating all our services to AWS and are excited to proceed with further improvements for the customer on our technical journey.

About your new role
- Working in a cross-functional agile team that has the overall responsibility of our applications that enable customers to conveniently deal with their account experience.
- You are involved in designing and reviewing secure authentication and authorization workflows that are in line with our general system architecture goals.
- Also, you are responsible for implementing and maintaining libraries, REST and WEB-services, and components mainly in Java, Typescript, Kotlin and JavaScript.
- You will contribute to the design, implementation and operation of our platform and infrastructure such as CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting.
- By giving consultancy and support when other teams are integrating their products with our single sign-on solution, you provide authorization capabilities for their services.
Skills & Requirements
- You can act in all layers of an end-user facing highly available web service stack, no matter if front-end, backend-end or infrastructure.
- You have solid understanding of cloud-based microservice architectures.
- You have extensive knowledge of Java and common open-source frameworks, especially Spring Boot and Spring Security as well as...
- secured web-applications, building API based solutions with REST.
- solid knowledge of document databases and object mapping frameworks like Spring Data MongoDB, etc.
- You feel responsible for operating and monitoring your applications.
- Very awesome extras: Knowledge of industry standards in web authentication, authorization, and identity management (like OAuth2, OpenIdConnect, SAML) and/or frameworks and products (e.g. Auth0, Okta, AWS Cognito...).

- You don't live in Berlin and want to work from home? Our hybrid work model offers you the freedom to work from all over Germany in a mobile and flexible way. For your perfect work set up at home, you get everything you need (noise-canceling headset, laptop, etc.). We look forward to your attendance in Berlin on 10-15 Collaboration Days per year.

As part of our Hybrid Work at idealo, you decide whether and how often you work from our office in Berlin or remotely because you live in another city within Germany or the café down the street makes the best coffee cream. Only about once a month, there will be mandatory office days to bring idealos together at company, department or team level, including stunning views from our roof terrace.
