Product Lead - Search Experience (f|m|x)

As the Product Lead for Search Experience at idealo, you will shape the way millions of users explore and discover products. You’ll lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the user-facing search experience—empowering people to find exactly what they need with confidence, clarity, and speed. 

Your Mission: Guide users through one of Europe’s richest product and offer catalogs, ensuring they find relevance, value, and inspiration across diverse shopping intents—from focused price comparison to open-ended product exploration. You'll define how key elements such as filters, product tiles, offers, and sponsored content come together to create a coherent and satisfying experience. 

This is a high-impact role in a dynamic environment where innovation is driven by advancing AI capabilities, evolving consumer behaviors, and an increasingly competitive digital commerce landscape. You’ll play a central role in delivering a user journey that is both intuitive and adaptive, anchored in real user needs and aligned with idealo’s strategic goals. 

About your new role 

• Own the vision, KPIs, and roadmap for the frontend search results experience, with a focus on guiding users through content-rich and decision-oriented interfaces. 

• Design and optimize how users interact with filters, product information, and promotional elements to support different exploration and comparison needs. 

• Translate business priorities and user insights into a cohesive UX strategy that balances usability, performance, and scalability. 

• Partner closely with the Search Backend team and Product Lead, aligning efforts to ensure a seamless integration of relevance logic with frontend presentation. 

• Lead discovery and delivery together with engineering, driving solutions from concept to execution with excellence. 

• Validate ideas through experimentation and A/B testing at scale, using data and user feedback to iterate and improve continuously. 

• Collaborate across App, Content, and Commercial teams to ensure consistent user experiences and maximize cross-team value creation. 

• Keep stakeholders, peers, and leadership aligned through clear communication and transparent goal-setting. 

Skills & Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and scaling user-facing digital products, ideally in e-commerce, search, or marketplace domains. 

• Proven ability to deliver measurable business and user outcomes through frontend innovation—particularly in search and product discovery contexts. 

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to ask the right questions and turn insights into impactful decisions, supported by SQL or analytics tool proficiency. 

• Strategic and systems-level thinking, paired with a keen attention to the details that define great UX. 

• A deep understanding of the interplay between design, performance, SEO, and engagement in complex digital environments. 

• A collaborative, empathetic leadership style that builds alignment and momentum across diverse teams. 

• Fluency in German and English—essential for understanding idealo’s core user base and collaborating effectively across our Berlin-based teams.
