We are looking for a people development focused Team Lead for our idealo white labels engineering team, which is responsible for 8 white label domains over 6 countries (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria and the UK).

Almost like a start-up within idealo itself, we are constantly experimenting and looking for innovations to fuel our exceptional growth. The position is available as a full-time or part-time position.

We are looking for a person that is passionate about empowering people to be at their best, familiar with leading agile teams and able to create an environment of trust where autonomy and alignment are no contradiction.

About your new role

  • You will manage an agile team of 4 developers in close alignment with the teams product owner, to achieve the white labels goals.
  • You support our engineers both in their professional and personal development as well as growing as a team through coaching, mentoring and management support.
  • You are familiar with principles like pair programming, code review & testing and are able to manifest those in the team culture as much as openness, respect, and celebrating successes on our beautiful roof terrace.
  • Your main tasks are to build a high-performing team, grow and retain talents, e.g., by supporting your team members in their personal and professional development, providing coaching and feedback, and hiring.
  • You are a proactive member of the International tech department’s leadership team to shape the department’s future in terms of strategy and people/culture initiatives and practices.
  • You support your team in building and improving effective and efficient collaboration and communication structures within the company.

Skills & Requirements

  • You have a passion for developing people and teams and have proven experience in implementing these skills.
  • With your lead-by-example approach you communicate clearly, are empathetic and know how to create a motivating environment for your employees on eye-level.
  • You can bring structure to complex situations, drive decisions and implement the measures you want to take.
  • You can facilitate and support strategy development and goal setting on personal, team, and department level
  • A solid knowledge of common methods and frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Design Thinking, OKRs and change management will help you to work with our development team. A profound understanding of good practices in software engineering, like pair programming, testing, and clean code is a plus.
  • You bring good communication skills in English. German language skills are appreciated.
