The Team Fulfillment within the product area After Sales is currently looking for a Java Software Engineer.

The position of Java Software Engineer (m|f|x) is available full-time or part-time.


About your new role

  • You ensure the successful completion of idealo’s customer journey, e.g. by enabling our customers and merchants to know at any given moment where their parcel is.
  • While satisfying the fulfillment needs of our customers, you also guarantee data security and integration in order to facilitate our data-driven approach.
  • You deliver testable, maintainable, and high-quality code and take operational responsibility for the components that you develop.

Skills & Requirements

Tech skills

  • You can reference proven experience in developing applications with Java and you are comfortable with Spring.
  • You are familiar with the development, design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based applications.
  • You have proven knowledge and experience with core AWS services, such as Lambdas, SQS, SNS, S3.
  • Experience with Kafka and Node.js is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
  • Some knowledge and experience in Web Application Development with React is a plus, but not a prerequisite.

Mindset and people skills

  • You are motivated to support our team in working on our backend services on AWS and in designing and continuously improving applications and services.
  • You are fluent in English. Your communication skills allow you to exchange, discuss and share knowledge with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • You welcome feedback, share it actively and use it to guide your personal as well as professional development.
