As Product Owner - Data Platform Inventory (m|w|x), you develop the future of the Inventory Data Platform, in order to enable data-driven decisions from the inventory key figures and to drive our strategy, based on data.

In doing so, you will coordinate closely with your team of data engineers and other product owners in the B2B domain and within the "Product & Technology" area. In addition, you will work with teams and stakeholders throughout the company.

Job requirements

About your new role


  • As part of our OKR process, you will design a data-driven product strategy that reflects both the requirements of the users and the objectives of the corporate strategy.
  • Based on the needs of the stakeholders, you develop the data platform providing the services necessary to improve the data-driven capabilities of idealo.
  • With your domain knowledge of the idealo inventory and all inventory attributes, you are the central contact person for all inventory analyses. You ensure stringent wording with a corresponding glossary and centrally document the semantics of the attributes.
  • You will ensure an optimal cost/benefit ratio for our cloud infrastructure, both in planning and in operations.
  • If necessary, you plan and coordinate the use of external services.


About you


  • You have professional experience as a product owner or product manager in an agile environment, ideally in the field of big data.
  • You have a strong logical mindset and strong analytical skills.
  • You have a high level of technical understanding and a feel for what is technically feasible.
  • Preferably you already have first experience with Grafana and/ or Tableau to display data from different data sources, but this is not a must.
  • You know how to set priorities and when it is important to pay attention to details. At the same time you don't lose sight of the "big picture".
  • We expect you to have strong communication skills, the ability to work in a team and good presentation skills.
  • You live "product ownership" and ensure that your topics are driven forward by a high degree of initiative and an independent way of working. You dare to change things and are willing to learn from mistakes.
